You’d have to write a book to fit even the most basic biography, but, in short, this is some crazy psycho/surf/blue/punk/rockabilly. Probably the most fun band I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with. It started sometime in the early 00’s, an idea from the twisted imagination of Whoopin’ Cough Jonny that turned into a thunderous rock and roll explosion.

This particular recording was made live at none other than the original
Sun Studios in Memphis Tennessee. Those in the ‘know’ have heard what a trip that was (let’s just say that one of us ended up in jail and we all got to meet the legendary Johnny Cash). Recorded by James Lott, mastered at Acqrok Studio, with awesome artwork from the amazing Stacey Martin

Crookedfoot was an ongoing project encompassing various recordings made with anybody who was around to play. This collection was the “last” (album title?) one made prior to leaving Utica, and features contributions from Joe Ulrich, Paul Crowther and Adam Spiridollozi.

The recording also includes several pieces (*) performed live and written for the play “300 Out Of Hades” by Julie Lewis (A love story about a bowling tournament in purgatory, somehow I ended up having a part playing the voice of god. strange.)

Recorded live on the Book of SFX program on WZBC Boston in Feb 2004, hosted by Justin (Blunder/Platinum Limb) and Rob (cozyhomerecords).

About an hour of noises, a couple of songs, and lots of samples.

The Book of SFX was a radio show and a live event every Thursday night on 90.3 WZBC in Newton, MA, and on wzbc.org. Using binaural microphones, the hosts collected sounds from public areas and private spaces, cut them up, and brought them into the studio each week, using a sampler to layer, loop and distort these microsounds (several seconds, fractions of seconds) into entirely new soundcapes. The result was the intersection between a fractured “cinema verite” for the ears and improvised electronic compositions that gravitated toward noise.
